NFL Week 14: Previewing the AFC West

As the NFL season winds down, the AFC West continues to be one of the best divisions in football with the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos.  This week, these teams will look to add to their great seasons and battle it out for first place.

The 9-3 Chiefs will take on the 3-9 Washington Redskins this week.  Although the Chiefs will be on the road, this should be a very easy win for them.  Washington has struggled this year and it shows with their 3-9 record.  The Chiefs lost to the Broncos last week in what was a very important divisional showdown in KC.  The Chiefs have been exposed when they play the better teams in the league, but this week, a win is store for this team as they try to regain the first place title.

The Broncos are enjoying first place and have no plans to fall to second.  Denver improved to 10-2 after beating the Chiefs last week, taking both games this year.  This week Denver will host the 5-7 Tennessee Titans.  The Broncos have been unstoppable all year, and have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with.  Like the Chiefs, the Broncos have an easy week, being at home playing a struggling team.

The 4-8 Oakland Raiders will travel to New York to face the 5-7 Jets.  The Raiders have gotten off to a hot start this season, but always fall in the second half.  The Jets aren’t much better, but they will have home field advantage and will face a team that struggles on the east coast in the Raiders.  Oakland will look to rebound after a tough loss on Thanksgiving to the Cowboys.

San Diego will host the New York Giants this week.  Both teams are even at 5-7.  Both teams have struggled at times this year, but the Giants have been far more disappointing. This will be an interesting matchup between two even matched teams.  However, the Chargers have the upperhand in this matchup being at home and the fact that the Giants have struggled on offense and have turned the ball over many times this season.
