NFL Week 2 Preview : Jaguars at Redskins

Time : 1PM ET

Channel : ABC

Spread : Washington -11

Players To Watch

Ryan Davis , LEO, Jacksonville Jaguars

Arguably the best pass rusher on this team, Davis has great hands and pad level and puts up stats in a lesser role than Chris Clemons and Andre Branch. He will not beat you athletically, but he will get pass you if you don't have good feet or hand usage to block him. At times last week, Davis made All-Pro guard Evan Mathis look like a backup player before he went down with an injury.

Brian Orakpo, Outside Linebacker, Washington Redskins

The much talented edge rusher will be under a good bit of pressure in this game to perform at his best due to the talent, or lack thereof, around him. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley mentioned a few days ago in a press conference that Orakpo is a player they will try to get in he hits free agency, so the Jaguars will be having an eye on him for future refernces.

Dwayne Gratz, Cornerback, Jacksonville Jaguars

The second year Corner at of UCONN has been having a great season starting from Week 1 in the Preseason. Gratz has displayed his open field tackling ability , ball skills , and length when given the chance to go up against shifty or big wide outs. Right now , you can make a real argument that Gratz is not only the best Corner but best DB on this young Jaguars team. If he goes up against Desean Jackson it will be something to definitely keep an eye on.

Alfred Morris, Running Back, Washington Redskins

“He's a system back, the option made him.” That has been a current theme with Morris since Mike Shanahan's spread option has moved to Cleveland with Kyle. That is further than the case, Morris is a top-10 talent at his  position. He has great speed and mix of power to throw in, a deadly combo of vision and cutback ability. So if the Redskins offensive line can create any type of push versus a tough, developing defensive line that the Jaguars have , Morris could have a big game and potentially carry this team to a victory.

Allen Robinson, Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars

A explosive player down the field or with the ball in his hands, Robinson is making his way back from a hamstring injury that had him out from late July through the whole preseason. Jacksonville tried to ease him back into things last week against Philadelphia and that plan did not end as it wanted it to. Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Gabe Jackson had more catches than him last week. If they can let Robinson get open on the edges or throw the ball deep to him, expect a nice display from the Rookie.

Implications

If the Jaguars offense doesn't have a epic collapse like they did in the second half last week, can convert third downs , and score six points in the red zone, the Jaguars will have the advantage due to the Redskins below average offensive line. Jacksonville's defensive line showed what they can do last week  but got tired as the offense could not move the ball, with Robert Griffin III being forced to be a pocket passer, he will struggle due to his bad feet and weight transfer.

Final Prediction

Jacksonville Jaguars 27 – Washington Redskins 10
