Well, the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs are still undefeated this year with their 6-0 records. Every team in the AFC West won their Week 6 matchups, except the Raiders, who played the Chiefs. This week, there will be a few interesting matchups as these AFC West teams look to build off their wins.
The 3-3 San Diego Chargers are coming off an impressive win against the Indianapolis Colts and will face the winless Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has put up some nice numbers for the most part this season, and will look to continue that trend against a struggling team. The Chargers have the perfect opportunity to take advantage and enter their bye week with a winning record. The Jaguars, however, played a good game against the Denver Broncos last week. The half time score was a lot closer than what everyone was anticipating, but in the end, of course, the Jags lost as the Broncos were victorious. The Chargers have a lot of momentum going into this game, and they face a team that is one of the worst in the league. Hard to see the Chargers losing this one.
The Kansas City Chiefs have made quite the turnaround from last season. New head coach Andy Reid has made quite the change in KC for the better. Last week, they played the Raiders in what was, for awhile, a battle of the defenses; but the Raiders lack of health on the offensive line, helped the Chiefs get the W. This week they face they’ll host the 2-4 Houston Texans, who have been a huge disappointment this year. Matt Schaub has been struggling for the Texans and they just haven’t been able to get a rhythm going. This Chiefs team will look to improve to 7-0 and are more than capable of doing so; especially with the always loud Chiefs fans at Arrowhead behind them.
This week, the Denver Broncos will travel to Indianapolis to take on the 4-2 Colts on Sunday Night Football. Peyton Manning returns to Indy, the place where his amazing NFL career began, for the first time as a Bronco. The Colts will honor Manning before the game in what is sure to be a very special and emotional moment for the Pro Bowl quarterback. Denver will look to remain undefeated, but it won’t be an easy task against a very good Colts team led by Andrew Luck. The Colts may have lost to the Chargers last week, but they’ve beaten some of the best teams in the league in the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers. This is sure to be an entertaining game with Manning taking on his former team where it all began for him.
The 2-4 Oakland Raiders will have a much needed bye week as they look to get healthy heading into Week 8.
