NFL Wild Card Weekend Injury Report

Andy Dalton, Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals

Out since Week 14 with a broken thumb on his throwin hand, the Bengals were holding out some hope that Dalton would be able to return for their wild card game against the Houston Texans on Saturday. As of Thursday, Dalton had not practiced since suffering the injury — a clear indication that he will not be able to go.

This means that second-year quarterback A.J. McCarron, with a full three NFL starts under his belt, will be under center in an attempt to snap the Bengals 26-year drought without a postseason win.

DeAngelo Williams, Running Back, Pittsburgh Steelers

Williams was in a walking boot earlier this week after suffering a foot injury against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. While that boot has since been removed, he still hasn't practiced. Listed questionable, Williams should be considered unlikely to play Saturday night. This would be a major blow to a team that's already without starter Le'Veon Bell. Williams recorded nearly 1,300 total yards and 11 touchdowns during the regular season.

Marshawn Lynch, Running Back, Seattle Seahawks

Lynch — out since week 10 with a sports hernia surgery — was a full go at practice this week. He's going to be ready to go come Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Though, the concern here has to be that he is going to be rusty in what promises to be cold-weather conditions. That's definitely going to be something to check out.

Adrian Peterson, Running Back, Minnesota Vikings

Peterson missed Thursday's practice with a back injury and has not practiced all week. This seems to be more of a precaution than anything else, as he indicated he will be ready to go come Sunday. The only real concern here is what's expected to be near zero-degree weather in Minnesota. There's always a chance his back could lock up on him.

Matt Jones, Running Back, Washington Redskins

Jones practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday with a hip injury he suffered back in Week 15. Considering he has been out the past two weeks and hasn't been a full participant in practice heading into Friday, Jones is unlikely to be ready for Sunday's game.

Luke Willson, Tight End, Seattle Seahawks

Wilson suffered a concussion last week against the Arizona Cardinals and has not yet passed through the necessary protocol to return to the practice field. He has to be considered doubtful for Sunday's game.

Duane Brown, Offensive Tackle, Houston Texans

Brown was diagnosed with a torn right quad earlier this week and will miss the playoffs. As the Texans starting left tackle, Brown allowed just four sacks in nearly 1,000 snaps. He will be replaced at that all-important position by Chris Clark who allowed just as many sacks in half the snaps. This is important for the Texans, especially considering their left tackle will likely be lining up against Tamba Hali.

David Bakhtiari, Offensive Tackle, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay's starting left tackle missed the final two games of the regular season with an ankle injury. This forced guard Josh Sitton into protecting Aaron Rodgers' blindside last week against the Minnesota Vikings. Sitton responded by giving up four quarterback hits and two sacks in the loss.

Bakhtiari was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and is the definition of questionable to go for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins:

If he can't go, this will be a major blow to a Packers passing game that has struggled a great deal over the past several weeks. That's definitely something to keep an eye on for those of you playing DFS this week.

Nate Washington, Wide Receiver, Houston Texans

Houston's second-leading receiver during the regular season got in a limited session of practice on Thursday while going through a hip injury. He is considered day-to-day. If Washington is unable to go, Cecil Shorts will act as the team's No. 2 receiver.
