This is legitimately some pretty big news around the NFL world. New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday after suffering torn right biceps against the Dallas Cowboys last week.
Soldier, a former first-round pick of the Patriots, had started 51 of the past 52 games prior to Sunday's injury. Prior to last week's less than stellar performance against Greg Hardy, Solder had allowed a total of five sacks in the past 20 games.
This is a major blow to a quarterback in Tom Brady that has been sacked 11 times in four games after going down just 21 times all of last season.
There is no word on who might replace Solder in protecting Brady's blindside, but current starting right tackle Sabastian Vollmer could very well move over to the left side.
