For the second consecutive game, New England Patriots wide receiver Michael Floyd will be a healthy inactive. Floyd will not suit up when New England takes on the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI on Sunday evening.
Floyd, who was picked up off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals after a DUI arrest in December, played a small role as the Pats closed out the regular season. In fact, he recorded a touchdown in the team's season finale.
However, after putting up one catch for nine yards in the divisional round, Floyd found himself inactive against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game. It was a surprise move. But now that it happened, him being inactive for Super Bowl LI isn't a big surprise.
As they were in the title game, look for Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan to play huge roles for the Patriots come Sunday night. Both recorded 100-plus receiving yards in the AFC Championship Game with Hogan breaking the Pats postseason record for receiving yards in a single game.
