The AFC South is a division many people will be talking about in the next few years. Led by Andrew Luck, the Indianapolis Colts have done a great job rebuilding their organization after cutting ties with Peyton Manning. The Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars will be much improved next year and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Jaguars in the next two years making the playoffs. The Tennessee Titans are entering a rebuild, but they already have a good offensive line in place.
With all of that being said, each team in the division had a good draft. Let's take a look at the breakout rookie on each team in the division.
Tennessee Titans
Bishop Sankey
The rookie out of Washington was, in my opinion, the best player from this draft class. His combination of burst and vision is one of the best I have seen and he could make Titan fans forget about Chris Johnson right away.
I said earlier how the Titans have one of the best offensive lines in the league. Even before drafting Taylor Lewan in the first round, the Titans' offensive line was above average, but with the addition of Lewan, this offensive line is one of the bests. Sankey will see a ton of touches right away because Ken Whisenhunt will want to run the ball to set up the pass. Sankey could be ranked in the top ten of fantasy football running backs by the end of the year.
Houston Texans
Jadeveon Clowney
Well this one is pretty obvious. To me, Jadeveon Clowney is a transcendent talent when you place him next to a player on the caliber of J.J. Watt, great things are going to happen. Clowney is an actual freak. He's 6'6", 275 pounds, and he runs a sub 4.50 40-yard dash. The sky is the limit for him and the other AFC South teams will cringe whenever they see Watt and Clowney lining up across from each other.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Marqise Lee
I would love to sit here and say that Blake Bortles will be the breakout rookie from this Jacksonville team, but I don't see him starting. When you listen to Gus Bradley, it seems pretty clear that the Jaguars' plan is to start Chad Henne. Although, if Bortles plays well in training camp, he may force Bradley's hand. Nonetheless, Marqise Lee is a guy that shoud've went in the first round. His production dipped a little last year, but the main reason because of that was his quarterback play. Lee needs to put on weight, but he has the tools to be a real good receiver in the NFL.
Indianapolis Colts
Martavis Bryant
When you look at this Colts team, it could easily be much better if Trent Richardson were to perform like the 2012 top-five pick he should be. Because of the Richardson trade, the Colts didn't have a first-round pick. Reggie Wayne is coming off an injury and he is getting up there in age, that's why I believe Martavis Bryant, the player who lined up across from Sammy Watkins at Clemson, will be Indianapolis' breakout rookie. Bryant has a great combination of size and speed and he will be a nice player across from T.Y. Hilton.
