Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch Suspended One Game

A mid-game shove of a referee by Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch will prove to be even more costly than a fine and his in-game ejection. On Friday afternoon, the NFL announced it suspended Lynch for one game for his unsportsmanlike conduct.

During the second quarter, a scuffle between the Raiders' offensive line and Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters took place. During it, Lynch got involved and pushed an official in the midst of the scuffle and received an immediate ejection. He then left the game and later joined his family in the stands.

In the absence of Lynch, DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard took over for the running attack. Washington carried the ball nine times for 33 yards and a trip to the end zone, while Richard finished with nine carries for 31 yards.

If Lynch doesn't appeal his suspension or a judgment is made before Week 8, Richard and Washington will see more touches in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills. While the RBBC backfield isn't great news for fantasy owners. However, Richard's 4.5 yards per carry is significantly better than Lynch's 3.7 yards per carry average. If Richard and Washington can turn in a favorable performance, Lynch could lose even more work going forward.
