At last, some good news on the injury front for the Green Bay Packers. A week after losing Jordy Nelson for the season to a torn ACL, fellow wide receiver Randall Cobb went down with what looked to be a serious shoulder injury Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Visibly upset heading to the locker room, it appeared Cobb was going to be lost for some time.
After X-rays on Cobb's shoulder came back negative that's obviously not going to be the case. And while he will have addition tests on Sunday, the star receiver will likely be ready to go when Week 1 comes calling.
This is big news for a Packers team that simply couldn't afford another serious injury to one of its receivers. Cobb, 25, put up 91 receptions for nearly 1,300 yards and 12 scores last season. He's going to be Aaron Rodgers favorite target i the passing game this year.
