New Washington Redskins linebacker Junior Galette suffered an ankle injury late in practice on Wednesday afternoon. Any type of injury news during the summer, especially this year, should be cause for alarm—something that was confounded by the remarks Redskins head coach Jay Gruden made on the injury after practice:
Galette, 27, was released by the New Orleans Saints last month after video surfaced of him allegedly striking a female with a belt during a fight in South Beach back in 2013. On the field, the veteran linebacker has tallied double-digit sacks in each of the past two years.
He signed a one-year deal with Washington earlier this month.
We will provide further updates when they become available.
