The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly going to be without Andrew Luck for the second consecutive game Thursday night agianst the Houston Texans.
NFL Media's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Colts are expected to go with Matt Hasselbeck in lieu of its franchise signal caller. And while Luck is going to test his shoulder during pre-game warmups, it's safe to say he won't be able to go.
Considering Indianapolis is coming off a short week after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Though, the expectation earlier in the week was that Luck might be able to give it a go. That confidence was muted a bit when the team re-signed Josh Johnson a couple days after releasing the veteran backup.
The interesting thing to look at here is that Hasselbeck spent time in the emergency room until the early-morning hours on Thursday with a virus — something he's reportedly still feeling the effects of.
If Hasselbeck is unable to go, Johnson will get the start a little over a week after Indianapolis signed him the first time. That's a less-than-ideal scenario for a Colts team that needs a win in order to avoid dropping to under .500 on the year.
In terms of fantasy football, no one on the Colts can really be considered a start this week against J.J. Watt and Co., especially Hasselbeck.
