Report: Browns CB Justin Gilbert Cited in Road Rage Incident

The Cleveland Browns are prepared to make the San Francisco 49ers look like a stable organization. After an offseason filled with rehab trips, a general manager being suspended and a domestic violence incident regarding the team's offensive line coach, the Browns were once again in the news for all the wrong reasons Friday night.

Second-year cornerback Justin Gilbert, who has yet to come close to loving up to his status as a first-round pick, was cited by police in Brunswick, OH. on Friday night for his role in an alleged road rage incident.

Yes, you read that right.

According to a local ABC affiliate in Ohio, Gilbert got into a spat with another driver while in his Dodge Challenger. After the other individual proceeded to chase Gilbert, the Browns cornerback crashed his car. Immediately after the incident, Gilbert allegedly threw his tobacco juice on to the other car. Gilbert was eventually charged with lack of responsible control.

While this incident is minor in the grand scheme of things, Gilbert's short history in the NFL hasn't been friendly to his perception within the team's front office. He had previously been benched for what many within the organization have called immaturity issues

It remains to be seen whether Gilbert will be active against the New York Jets on Sunday, though he's not currently a starter.
