Report: Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans have interest in Colin Kaepernick

While Colin Kaepernick's fate with the San Francisco 49ers is yet to be determined, it's clear San Francisco will have a few options if Kaepernick wants out tor the team decides to go in a different direction. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday that the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans have interest in Kaepernick.

The 28-year-old quarterback had a down season without Jim Harbaugh, Kaepernick played in just nine games and completed less than 60 percent of his passes with a 6/5 TD/INT ratio. The 49ers' offense was influx, Kaepernick was in a bad situation and he no longer looked like the promising star we once knew.

Some are optimistic that Kap will fit well in new head coach Chip Kelly's scheme, but Kelly requires short, accurate passes with timing and that's not something Kaepernick has always done well. His $11.9 million contract becomes guaranteed on April 1, making the 49ers decision worth watching even more.

This situation likely won't be resolved in the immediate future, with the 49ers likely wanting to give Kelly and Kaepernick time to talk and see if they are a fit. If things don't work out, then Kaepernick should be suiting up for a new team in 2016 and ideally finding a place where he can compete for the starting job.
