The NFL never ceases to entertain fans and the media. Just a day after Geno Smith's jaw was broken by teammate IK Enemkpali, which led to Enemkpali's release, Enemkpali is back on an NFL roster. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport broke the news that the Buffalo Bills claimed Enemkpali off waivers.
It's fitting, given the Bills are in the AFC East and new head coach Rex Ryan claims a player from his former team. Ryan has always been an outgoing, honest character who loves ferocious defense and to have a roster full of players who can hit the quarterback. Ryan coached Enemkpali, the Jets' sixth-round pick in 2014. He played in six games last season, registering three total tackles and two passes deflected.
Enemkpali will join a loaded Bills' defense and fight for a roster spot at outside linebacker. If he makes the Bills' 53-man roster and you are curious, Buffalo travels to New York on November 12th to face Smith. It almost seems fitting that the game will be broadcasted on NFL Network. What great television it will be if Ryan names Enemkpali a team captain for that game.
