Report: Indianapolis Colts Sign Ahmad Bradshaw

The Indianapolis Colts seem to have the market cornered on aging running backs with something still left in the tank. The team signed Frank Gore away from the San Francisco 49ers back in March to be its starting running back. In five games, Gore finds himself on pace for over 1,000 rushing yards and is averaging 4.3 yards per attempt.

While the signing of Ahmad Bradshaw likely won't impact Gore's touches a great deal initially, it could be an indication that Indianapolis will rely more on the running game moving forward.

Bradshaw, 29, failed to catch on with a NFL team during the offseason, mainly because of injury issues (13 games played the past two seasons) and a one-game suspension stemming from a marijuana arrest. Last season saw Bradshaw put up 725 total yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 5.7 yards per touch.

With Gore and Bradshaw in the mix, rookie Josh Robinson will likely take a back seat. He had been spelling Gore for the first five games of the season.

We are going to want to wait and see how the Colts use Bradshaw before drawing a final conclusion from a fantasy standpoint. He could act as a change of pace to Gore, or could potentially handcuff the Colts current starting running back. Though, that latter possibility is further down the line. For now, Gore remains a solid RB2 option in 12-team leagues and DFS contests.
