Report: Jason Pierre-Paul Rehabbing in South Florida

After Jason Pierre-Paul was released from the hospital, very little was made public about his communication with the New York Giants, his rehab from having his finger removed after a July 4 fireworks accident. It wasn't until August 3 that we heard Pierre-Paul reached out and spoke to the Giants and the NY Daily News released images of Pierre-Paul's hand in heavy wrapping.

Now more information is beginning to come out about 2011 and 2012 Pro Bowler, this time from one of his teammates. Defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins told NewJersey.com that Pierre-Paul is currently rehabbing, telling NJ.com that he texted Pierre-Paul and "He's doing good, rehabbing and getting his hand right. I guess when the time presents itself, he'll come back whenever he feels comfortable."

Pierre-Paul still has not signed the $14.8 million franchise tag the Giants applied to him back in March. Obviously this is a delicate issue and Pierre-Paul wants to make sure he has completely recovered and his rehab has gone smoothly, which will then allow him to hopefully be cleared by Giants' team doctors and allow him to sign the franchise tag.

It is still unknown how long Pierre-Paul's rehab will take and even when he does return, how he will play. But obviously Hankins information is good news to hear for everyone. As the weeks go on, we will have more updates on the situation as information becomes available.
