The hits keep coming for the New England Patriots. On the same day that they placed Dominique Easley on injured reserve, reports surfaced that starting running back LeGarrette Blount will be out for the remainder of the year after suffering a hip injury against the Houston Texans on Sunday night:
Blount, 29, put up 746 yards and seven total touchdowns in 12 games this season. He leads the Patriots in rush attempts, rushing yards and touchdowns on the ground.
With Blount lost for the season, Brandon Bolden will likely take over the primary ball carrier duties with James White playing a larger role on offense.
Remember, New England lost Dion Lewis to a torn ACL earlier this season, meaning the team is now down to its third-string running back.
Neither Bolden or White should be counted on for fantasy production over the final three weeks. Though, White's uptick in the receiving game (14 catches the past two games) makes him a decent waiver add in PPR-heavy leagues.
