It appears that the New Orleans Saints could be without one of their best skill-position players for the final four games of the season.
NFL Media's Rand Getlin is reporting that Mark Ingram is dealing with a "serious" shoulder injury, leading to fears that he could be lost for the year:
Ingram, the third-ranked fantasy running back in half-point PPR leagues such as FanDuel, has put up nearly 1,200 total yards and six scores in 12 games.
With Ingram potentially done for the year, the expectation has to be that C.J. Spiller will play a larger role in the Saints offense. While Spiller has put up only 31 attempts in 11 games this season, he does have 29 receptions in 36 targets through the air.
No other running back on the Saints active roster has played more than 20 snaps. The team did sign Tim Hightower, who had been out of the league for three seasons, but he can't be seen as a legitimate option to shark touches from Spiller.
