Report: Marshawn Lynch Less Likely to Play on Monday

A week after Marshawn Lynch was absent for most of the game against the Chicago Bears, it appears he is now more likely to miss Monday's game against the Detroit Lions. ProFootballTalk reported that the Seattle Seahawks running back is "60-40" not to play on Monday Night Football.

Lynch was active last week despite a calf injury, but didn't come out of the locker room until midway through the first quarter. Seattle tried to get him involved and see if his body could handle the work, but he was pulled from the game. Pete Carroll revealed after that Lynch was dealing with a hamstring injury.

If Lynch is unable to go against the Lions, Thomas Rawls figures to see a lot of the carries left for the taking. Rawls was outstanding against the Bears, rushing for 104 yards on just 16 carries. Many expected Fred Jackson to be Seattle's number two back behind Lynch, but last week made it very clear Rawls is the guy you want if Lynch is out.

Seattle will face a Lions' defense that is middle of the pack versus the run this year, allowing the 14th-most fantasy points to running backs through three games. The Denver Broncos moved the ball very well against the Lions last week and it opened the door for Ronnie Hillman to find the end zone. Rawls would make a nice FLEX play in Week 4.
