Robert Griffin III Cleared of Concussion, Will Play Saturday

After all of the drama surrounding Robert Griffin III's injury against the Detroit Lions, he has now been cleared by independent doctors of concussion symptoms and will be able to play Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens. As much as some fans or even Jay Gruden may not want Griffin III at quarterback, he will be out there on Saturday.

It's easy to play the blame game and start pointing to the organization, coaching staff and offensive line for allowing these injuries to RGIII to happen. But he still has to prove himself on the field, no matter how bad the offensive line is, he'll have that opportunity this weekend.

Baltimore will be a very good test for Washington, really a great opportunity for the Ravens' front-seven to destroy Washington's offensive line. Griffin III will remain in the pocket, but like last week it's hard to think his protection will hold up for more than two seconds. So this game will be all about staying healthy and just trying to get the ball out quickly. There's not much support in Washington for RGIII, he needs to start building it with his play again.

From a fantasy perspective, this situation is just too volatile for Griffin III to have any fantasy relevance worth owning. The offense is not schemed to fit his skill set, there's a lack of trust between he and the coaching staff and he just isn't the type of quarterback right now that can overcome all of that, along with his own confidence issues. Even when Gruden throws in Kirk Cousins at quarterback, he won't hold fantasy value either.
