Roddy White to Have Minor Elbow Surgery, Expected Back for Week 1

As major injuries pop up across the league, Roddy White will undergo a minor procedure this week. Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn told reporters that White will have minor elbow surgery, though he will return for the Falcons' opener.

While White is sidelined for the rest of the preseason, it opens the door for Leonard Hankerson to be on the field more with Matt Ryan. It's especially important for Hankerson because the third preseason game is typically when starters play nearly a half, allowing him to get as much work in as possible.

White will unlikely miss regular season games, so if you've already drafted him you are in no real danger of losing any of White's value. He currently is going around the 82nd overall pick according to ADP, which seems really high for an aging receiver whose body is starting to slip. Guys like Nelson Agholor, Allen Robinson, Victor Cruz and Charles Johnson all offer more upside than White.

There is also less injury risk, so it really doesn't make much sense for White to be going this high. Perhaps this news will scare some people just being an injury and it will push his ADP back down to a more reasonable range. Hankerson is worth exploring as a late-round flier with White's injury history and the chance to be Ryan's number two target.
