Running Back Start/Sit
START
Darren McFadden, OAK vs ATL
Those who drafted McFadden in the first round hoping they found a rock to build their team around shouldn’t be panicking yet. McFadden and Oakland’s offensive line has been struggling picking up the new zone-blocking system. With a juicy matchup and coming off of a bye week where the run game was the emphasis of improvement, McFadden owners shouldn’t get cute and start an over-hyped player. Start McFadden as a strong RB1 this week.
Ryan Mathews, SD vs DEN
Mathews finally broke out after two slow weeks. He’s in the fast lane for a top fantasy RB with a great schedule and supreme talent. In three career games versus Denver, Mathew has averaged 127 rushing yards and a touchdown. Start Mathews without blinking as an elite RB1
Doug Martin, TB vs KC
Martin has slowed down from his borderline first round/ RB1 draft stock. He has yet to go over 100 yards and only have one touchdown on the season and just lost a goal line touchdown to former Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount. Look for Martin to get on track this week, start him are a strong RB2
SIT
Any Green Bay running back, GB vs HOU
Once Cedric Benson went down, Benson owners raced to the waiver wire, top waiver priority holders rejoiced and pounced on Starks or Green...and then everyone saw the Packers play the Texans this week. No one is sure how this back field is going to shake out and the Pack has a bad matchup, avoid this situation completely.
Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG vs SF
Bradshaw sprung free last week versus the Browns as he gashed Cleveland’s whole defense. This week he transitions from maybe the leagues least talented defense to the league most talented defense. Bradshaw is facing a giant (even though he is one) this week and should be now more than a flex option.
