Saints Place Khiry Robinson on IR with Fractured Tibia

The injury hits keep coming for running backs around the NFL. After a disheartening scene during his team's game against the New York Giants on Sunday, New Orleans Saints running back Khiry Robinson will be lost for the remainder of the year.

Robinson suffered a fractured tibia in the leg on this play:

Robinson, a third-year running back from West Texas A&M, was the Saints primary backup to Mark Ingram prior to suffering the injury. In eight games this year, Robinson has put up nearly 300 total yards and four touchdowns.

This likely means that the Saints will find themselves in the market for a veteran running back moving forward. Pierre Thomas, who played with this team from 2007-14, is a real possibility.

It also means that Ingram himself will likely see more touches without a proven running back behind him on the depth chart.
