Sammy Watkins Doubtful for Week 7

It took less than a half for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins to suffer another injury in what is quickly become a lost sophomore campaign for the former first-round pick.

Watkins injured his ankle in the second quarter of Buffalo's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He was later seen wearing a walking boot.

Now comes this:

Watkins did end up making the Bills' trip to London hours after Sunday's loss. Though, there's little to read into here. The Bills are going to want to see if he can even go through a practice before considering him as an option against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In London, the only way for them to do that was to have Watkins travel with the team.

The Clemson product missed the previous two games with a calf injury and was questionable heading into Sunday's game. Before exiting with the injury, Watkins put up four receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown.

With Percy Harvin also slated to miss extended time, Buffalo's wide receiver situation has taken a major hit here. Tight end Charles Clay stepped up big time with the team's other top-end pass catchers sidelined. He put up nine receptions for 62 yards on 13 targets. He will be the player directly impacted by Watkins' injury, and should be relied on as a TE1 until further notice.
