The Seattle Seahawks may be getting Marshawn Lynch back this upcoming week against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they will be without an important cog on offense for the foreseeable future.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll indicated following the team's win over the Detroit Lions that running back Fred Jackson suffered a high-ankle sprain in Monday night's game.
Depending on the severity of the sprain, this could be a long-term injury for Jackson. That's only magnified by him playing a position that requires a ton of wear and tear on the ankle.
With Jackson out for the foreseeable future, rookie Thomas Rawls figures to play an important role on offense moving forward. He started Monday night in Lynch's stead and is two weeks removed from a 100-yard performance against the Chicago Bears.
If Lynch is unable to go this week against Cincinnati, Rawls will get the start again. And with Jackson sidelined for a while, it wouldn't be surprising to see Seattle add another running back in free agency.
