With Thomas Rawls lost for the season due to fractured ankle and Marshawn Lynch's return date still undetermined, the Seattle Seahawks find themselves in a major pinch at the running back position heading into Week 15.
On Tuesday, Seattle signed former Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills running back Bryce Brown, which was an indication that it did not expect Lynch back any time soon.
Then on Wednesday, the Seahawks doubled down on the running back position by bringing back former second-round pick Christine Michael.
Michael, 25, had spent the past two seasons with Seattle before being dealt to the Dallas Cowbys immediately prior to the 2015 regular season. He suited up in five games with Dallas before being released, eventually finding his way on the Washington Redskins practice squad.
While most figured the additions of Michael and Brown were for depth only, a report from ESPN's Sheil Kapadia tells us a completely different story:
It is rather surprising that both would jump DuJuan Harris and Fred Jackson on the team's depth chart. Though, Brown and Michael do have experience in Seattle's offensive scheme.
In any event, no one in Seattle's backfield can be considered a legitimate fantasy option until Lynch returns.
