Sharrif Floyd and Eric Kendricks Ruled Out for Week 9

As the Minnesota Vikings prepare to try and stop one of the best running backs in the NFL, St. Louis Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley, the Vikings' defense will have to do it without two of their key starters in the front-seven

Minnesota ruled out defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd and middle linebacker Eric Kendricks on Friday, a major blow that could be made even worse if outside linebacker Anthony Barr, listed as questionable, is also out. While the Vikings are only 19th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed (644) through seven games.

St. Louis has committed to Gurley over the past four games and he has come through with 120-plus rushing yards in each of the four games. Gurley should have already been ramped up to go in a game where he will square off against his mentor Adrian Peterson, but now this matchup versus the Vikings' defense should be a little easier.

Gurley remains locked in as an elite RB1 and makes a strong case to be the top-ranked running back across the fantasy landscape on a weekly basis.
