Should Brandon Boykin Play Outside for the Eagles in 2014?

The talent has always been there for Brandon Boykin to be a real good cornerback in the NFL last year. The problem with the three-year veteran is that he has been extremely inconsistent. After a rocky 2013 season, the question remains, should he should play outside or inside in 2014?

With Bradley Fletcher and Cary Williams exceeding expectationsi in 2013, this makes it even harder for Boykin to play on the outside. The biggest problem with Boykin is his size. At 5'10", 195 pounds, Boykin is a small cornerback and he is a risk-taker. The good news for Boykin is that he does a great job at making adjustments when the ball is in the air. The thing that helps him with this the most is his speed, as is the case by his 4.4 40-yard dash.

The Eagles have to thank Boykin for getting them in the playoffs. In their Week 17 matchup versus the rival Dallas Cowboys, Boykin interception a ball which would allow the Eagles to go on and win the game and ultimately clinch a spot in the playoffs. With great ball skills, Boykin has a lot of potential and it would be a wise idea to move him outside. Boykin could thrive in the role, but there will always be a spot for him on this team at the slot cornerback position.
