Steelers Ride Six Field Goals to AFC Championship Game in Win over the Chiefs

Not too often to do you see a team lose a game after scoring the only two touchdowns of the matchup. But that's exactly what happened ot Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While Pittsburgh couldn't find a way to punch it into the end zone, it came away with an NFL Playoff record six field goals in an 18-16 win over the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.

This, despite the fact that Ben Roethlisberger simply wasn't his normal self. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback put up just 224 yards on 20-of-31 passing in the two-point win.

It was, however, Le'Veon Bell who continues to prove his worth among the game's best. The running back went for 170 yards on 30 attempts en route to putting up 160-plus rushing yards for the second consecutive game. That's just absurd. And now, through his first 14 games of the season (postseason included), Bell has tallied over 2,200 total yards. Yeah, that's pretty absurd.

Despite not scoring a touchdown, Antonio Brown was also up to his old tricks. He tallied six receptions for 108 yards on 11 targets.

For the Chiefs, it was a questionable offensive game plan that held this team back. Despite averaging 4.5 yards per rush, Kansas City threw the ball 20 more times than it ran the ball. Smith put up just 172 yards with a touchdown and an interception in 34 attempts. Meanwhile, tight end Travis Kelce added 77 yards on five receptions.

Pittsburgh will now travel to Gillette to take on the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game next Sunday.
