The same game that saw Steve Smith pass Cris Carter for 10th on the all-time receiving list could very well be the end of the road for the future Hall of Famer.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Smith tore his Achilles, and will be lost for the remainder of the season:
Smith, 36, had indicated prior to the season that this would be his final year in the NFL. Though, Harbaugh did say after the team's win against the San Diego Chargers that he believes Smith will be back next season.
Here are Harbaugh's post-game comments regarding the injury:
The situation will obviously resolve itself in the coming weeks. If Smith does indeed return, it will be a long road back for the five-time Pro Bowler.
As it relates to the Ravens' wide receiver situation moving forward this year, it's most definitely not a good thing. Rookie first-round pick Breshad Perriman has yet to play in a game this year. Outside of that, the Ravens don't have much here.
