Seattle has one of the toughest remaining schedules in the league, leaving no room for error if they want to make a trip back to the playoffs. Three of the remaining four games are against NFC West opponents, two of which Seattle just held to a total of six points. After two dominant defensive wins against Arizona and San Francisco, Seattle is going to need to carry that momentum into week 14, when they travel to Philadelphia.
Week 14 at Philadelphia Eagles: Record: 9-3 (first in NFC East)
The Eagles and the Seahawks both had big divisional wins on Thanksgiving. Philly's high-flying offense hasn't missed a step after starting quarterback Nick Foles was sidelined with an injury a few weeks ago. Mark Sanchez has filled Foles' shoes quite well, actually - maybe even better. Philadelphia's offense ranks among the top in just about every category. They're third in points per game (31.2), fourth in total offense (416.2 yards per game), fifth in pass yards per game (286.0), and seventh in rush yards per game (130.2). Running back LeSean McCoy ranks second in rushing yards (1,018), but Marshawn Lynch is right behind him with 956. Overall, Philadelphia has scored the most points this season (375), so stopping this offense is going truly prove whether or not Seattle's defense still reigns supreme. We all remember the last time Seattle went up against the league's best offense... (hint: they won the Super Bowl).
On the other side of the ball, Philadelphia's defense isn't as threatening as their offense. The Eagles allow the 28th most passing yards (258.6), 13th most rush yards (107.7), 19th most yards per game (366.2), and 19th in points allowed per game (23.8). This is definitely a good sign for Seattle's rushing game and could be a good opportunity to improve the passing game.
With only Seattle, Dallas, and Washington left on their sechdule, the Eagles are more than likely going to win the NFC East and make it the playoffs for the second year in a row. Whether they're a serious contender... well, that's still up in the air.
Week 15 vs. San Francisco: Record: 7-5 (3rd in NFC West)
San Francisco is no doubt going to be looking to avenge the embarrassment they suffered after Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson ate Thanksgiving dinner on the 49ers logo. Seattle's defense truly stepped up, led by two Richard Sherman interceptions, and held San Francisco to only a field goal. Unfortunately for San Francisco, they're going to have to try to avenge that loss in Seattle. If the Raiders pull off the upset win next week, look for a truly deflated 49er squad to stumble into Seattle and leave empty handed.
Week 16 at Arizona: Record: 9-2 (first in NFC West)
After two huge divisional wins, Seattle is chasing Arizona, who heads to Atlanta this week to face the first-place, 4-7 Falcons. The Falcons are trying to stay on top of their division by being the team that sucks the least in the NFC South. Seattle held Arizona's offense to just three points a couple weeks ago and when the Hawks come to town in week 16, it could be a different story. Arizona hasn't lost at home this season, with two playoff contenders, Kansas City and Seattle, left to visit the site of Super Bowl 49. Arizona still ranks 31st in rushing yards per game, but signed running back Michael Bush to try to boost their ground game. It'll be interesting to see if it improves over the next couple weeks before Seattle makes a visit to University of Phoenix Stadium.
Week 17 vs. St. Louis: Record: 4-7 (4th in NFC West)
St. Louis has been playing the role of season spoiler this year, having beat San Francisco, Seattle, and Denver. The Rams are pulling up the rear in the NFC West and could be looking to spoil Seattle's playoff hopes in the last regular game of the season, but will have to do so on the road in Seattle.
The Rams have a chance to gather some last minute wins over the next few weeks, starting with Oakland this week, then the Redskins and the Giants down the stretch. The Rams are near the bottom in just about every category on both sides of the ball, mostly due to injuries. Although the match-up against the Hawks is going to be in their house, the Rams can be sneaky. If Seattle hasn't locked up a playoff spot by week 17, look for this to be a sneaky good game to end the season.
