After taking a back seat to Christine Michael in the team's season opener, Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls will start for the team Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. It will be Rawls' first start and just his second appearance since he suffered a serious ankle injury late last season.
This shouldn't be a surprise. Seattle has indicated all along that Rawls would be the starter once he was able to prove he's capable of shouldering the load. The second-year running back missed all of training camp and the preseason to the aforementioned injury.
Interestingly enough, Rawls wasn't as limited as we first thought he'd be last week against the Miami Dolphins. He put up 58 yards on 15 touches. For comparison's sake, Michael touched the ball a combined 17 times.
Now slated to go up against a Los Angeles Rams defense that allowed Carlos Hyde to put up the fifth-most fantasy points among running backs last week, Rawls could very well be a solid DFS play.
Remember, the then un-drafted rookie free agent put up a league-leading 5.6 yards per attempt in 147 carries last year.
