T.J. Yeldon Will Not Play in Jacksonville Jaguars Preseason Opener

Considered by some to be an under-the-radar option in fantasy football, Jacksonville Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon will have to wait at least one more week before making his NFL debut.

The 2015 second-round pick will miss Jacksonville's preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday night with a finger injury:

"He’s (Yeldon) doing good and everything and it wasn’t so much holding the ball as it was [pass] protection and how he’d be,” Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said. “We can’t put him out there at this time if he’s not 100 percent.”

Yeldon suffered the finger sprain in practice last week.

Currently atop the Jaguars depth chart with Denard Robinson, it's not a good sign that Yeldon will be forced to miss one of the team's four preseason games. As a rookie, any in-game reps during the exhibition slate has to be seen as a positive right now.

Yeldon's current ADP has him as the 24th running back off the board and a sixth-round pick in standard 12-team leagues. Despite missing Friday's game with a seemingly minor injury, the value is still there.
