Tony Romo Suffers Broken Collarbone, Likely Out 8 Weeks

In what would have been an otherwise great night for the Dallas Cowboys in Philadelphia on Sunday, Jason Garrett's team suffered the biggest loss of the season for any squad around the National Football League.

Despite the impressive 20-10 win, Dallas ended the night with the knowledge that Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo will be out for the next two months with a broken collarbone he suffered in the third quarter on Sunday evening.

Romo, who went down awkwardly after being hit by an Eagles defender, was taken to the locker room immediately after the play, at which point he mouthed to trainers that it was indeed a break. After X-rays were conducted, the team confirmed Romo suffered a broken collarbone. Though, the extent of time he's going to miss has yet to be decided.

Assuming Romo doesn't return at any point soon, this is a huge blow for the Cowboys. Brandon Weeden may have closed out the team's 10-point win over Philadelphia, but Dallas simply can't have a ton of confidence in him performing at a high level moving forward. Without Dez Bryant for the next six-plus weeks, this becomes an even bigger deal.

In terms of fantasy, well at least there are some options. Unlss you went QB1 early and doubled down on Romo a bit later (please tell me you didn't), you are relying on the Cowboys quarterback as a starter. If that's the case, you are going to have to hit the waiver wire pretty hard. Jameis Winston, Derek Carr and potentially Colin Kaepernick become decent replacements.
