Best Performance
Week 11, At Jacksonville Jaguars: Six Receptions, 193 Yards and One Touchdown
Floyd finished Week 11 as the No. 3 fantasy receiver behind Calvin Johnson and Antonio Brown. He caught six passes on 10 targets, including a 91-yard touchdown reception from Carson Palmer in the third quarter to give Arizona a two-score lead against what was a feisty Jaguars team. The 193-yard output was the best single-game performance of Floyd's short career.
Best Four-Game Stretch
Weeks 11-14: 20 receptions, 423 yards and two touchdowns
For a three-game stretch, Floyd was hands down the best receiver on the Cardinals roster. He tallied at least 99 yards in each of those three games, besting teammate Larry Fitzgerald by a wide margin. Floyd ended up the No. 4 fantasy receiver in this four-game stretch, despite catching only two passes for 26 yards in a Week 14 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
Lowest Statistical Output
Week 14, Vs- St. Louis Rams: Two Receptions, 26 yards, zero touchdowns and 2.60 fantasy points
Just when fantasy owners were starting to rely on Floyd as a starter, he laid a complete egg against the St. Louis Rams in the midst of the fantasy playoff battle. The former Golden Domer tallied just two catches on five targets, finishing the week as the 75th-ranked receiver. Overall, Floyd averaged just six fantasy points per outing in his final four games. That might lead some to believe that he's not fully prepared to be a consistent fantasy producer heading into 2014.
2013 Season at a Glance
Floyd finished as the 32nd-ranked fantasy receiver, just a few spots behind teammate Larry Fitzgerald. He caught 61 percent of the passes thrown in his direction and was targeted an average of just under seven times per game. Interestingly enough, Floyd led Cardinals receivers with five drops on the year. His total target output was just 22 less than Fizgerald, which bodes well for his fantasy value moving forward. The issue here, however, is that Floyd averaged just one touchdown per 21.2 targets. That needs to change moving forward.
2014 Outlook
If Floyd is going to be a fantasy stud, a number of different things are going to have to happen. First, he will have to take over for Fitzgerald as Carson Palmer's favorite target. We aren't exactly to sure that will ever happen. Second, Fitzgerald is traded in the offseason. Despite reports that he may be on the block, there is no logical conclusion that can be drawn indicating that Arizona's future Hall of Fame receiver will be dealt. Finally, Floyd will have to be more consistent both in the red zone and on third downs. Like I mentioned before, he led Arizona in drops and tallied just five scores on the year. The former needs to go down with the latter going up substantially.
Right now, Floyd is a decent FLEX option in standard 2WR leagues. That's pretty much his ceiling unless you are buying low at the WR2 slot.
Next Up: 99. Wes Welker, Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos
