Top 5 Fantasy Quarterbacks for Week 2

We are entering the second week of the NFL season, and 2013 is looking pretty interesting thus far.  Let’s take a look at the guys in the pocket you should be starting in Week 2.

1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

We all saw him dominate against the Super Bowl Champs last week for the first game of the NFL season.  Manning went off on the Ravens completing 26-of-41 passes for 452 yards and an NFL-record seven touchdowns.  He’s facing his brother Eli Manning and the Giants this week in New York, and it should be another solid week for the 37 year-old.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Rodgers went up against a tough 49ers team this week in a game that should have been the Sunday Night Football game (because who doesn’t want to see a babe like Carrie Underwood followed by damn good football).  Rodgers completed 21-of-37 passes for 333 yards with three touchdowns and one interception against San Francisco.  He faces the Redskins this week, and with Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley on his side, expect a monster week for Discount Double-Check.

3. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

In what most were expecting to be a slaughter of the Falcons in the first week, ended up being a challenge for Brees.  The former Super Bowl MVP completed 26-of-35 passes for 357 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.  He faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, who are ranked as one of the worst defenses fantasy wise.  Start him, don’t second guess yourself.  He’ll get you some great numbers this week.  You’re welcome.

4. Tom Brady, New England Patriots

The weather isn’t quite Ugg-worthy yet, but that doesn’t meant you should let Brady ride the pine pony this week.  Last week against the Bills he completed 29-of-52 passes for 288 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.  He faces the Jets this week, and even though New York had a pretty impressive outing, don’t expect a Cinderella story.  The Patriots will do fine, and Brady will lead them with a great game from the pocket.  Make sure you put him in this week, and try to forget he gets to go home to a super model.

5. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco

We still haven’t figured out if there are more fangirls for fanboys for Kaepernick, but that may be a question that will never be answered.  Last week the former Nevada Wolfpack quarterback faced a tough Clay Matthews and the Green Bay Packers.  Colin completed 27-of-39 passes for 412 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the victory.  He also had a ridiculous Anquan Boldin making miraculous catches.  That didn’t hurt him at all.  Colin rounds up the top five because he faces a strong Seattle Seahawks this week.  You should absolutely start him for your team.  This is the one week I will still follow you on twitter if you change your avi to a picture of you Kaepernicking.  Just this once.
