Top 5 Fantasy Quarterbacks for Week 3

1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

2013 Statistics: 68.6 completion percentage, 769 passing yards, nine touchdowns and zero interceptions

Manning at home against the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football. This should be fun. While Oakland has performed much better on defense this season than in 2012, it doesn't have anywhere near the level of talent to be able to account for Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Eric Decker and Julius Thomas in the passing game. The only way that Manning doesn't finish as the top fantasy quarterback for Week 3 is if this game turns out to be a laugher early on, at which point he likely would have put up three or four scores.

Projected Statistics: 26/36, 350 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions

2. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions

2013 Statistics: 65.8 completion percentage, 635 passing yards, four touchdowns and one interception

Normally we wouldn't think that Stafford has top-tier QB1 upside. His struggles getting the ball in the end zone towards the latter part of last season was well documented. That being said, Stafford has done a really good job expanding his play over the first two games this seasons and appears to be somewhat on the rebound. Detroit now goes up against a Washington Redskins defense that has yielded over 1,000 total yards and 35.5 points per game in the first two weeks. The likes of Calvin Johnson and even Nate Burleson should have field days against that unit. In total, Washington is giving up an average of 30 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year. Don't expect that to change in Week 3.

Projected Statistics: 29/41, 405 yards, three touchdowns and one interception

3. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers

2013 Statistics: 59.7 completion percentage, 539 passing yards, 109 rushing yards, three total touchdowns and three interceptions

Coming off a disastrous performance against the Seattle Seahawks last week, Kaepernick is going to have himself a huge game against a weak Indianapolis Colts defense. Including the postseason, Kaepernick is 5-0 as a starter at home and has compiled 12 total touchdowns compared to just one interception during that span. Indianapolis might be in the middle of the pack against fantasy quarterbacks this season, but Vontae Davis has been burned continually thus far this season. Opposing receivers have caught 78 percent of the passes thrown to them against Davis this year...Hello, Mr. Anquan Boldin. Expect a rather big performance from Kaepernick in this one.

Projected Statistics: 21/35, 250 pasisng yards, five rushes, 40 yards, three total touchdowns and zero interceptions

4. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

2013 Statistics: 69.6 completion percentage, 813 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception

Sure Rodgers is going up against a tough defense in the Cincinnati Bengals this week. Sure his offensive line may struggle against one of the best fronts in the game. It won't matter. Just look at what Rodgers did against San Francisco Week 1, and you have your answer here. No matter who No. 12 is going up against, he's going to be a legit top-tier QB1 option. He has thrown for nearly 10,000 yards with 96 total touchdowns and 15 interceptions in his last 33 regular season starts. That's an average of 303 yards, three touchdowns and less than 0.5 interceptions per game. That's also pretty much all you need to know here.

Projected Statistics: 27/35, 340 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions

5. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers

2013 Statistics: 60.7 completion percentage, 354 yards, three touchdowns and one interception

Newton obviously hasn't been impressive through two games this season, but going up against the New York Giants defense can cure a lot of problems. Pro Football Focus grades the Giants pass defense in the bottom 10 of the NFL and opposing quarterbacks have tallied a 112.3 rating against them this season. Just let that sink in for a second.

Interestingly enough, the Giants rank second in the NFL against the run, which means that the ball will be put in Newton's hands far more than what we have seen in the first two weeks. Expect more pass attempts for more completions and yards in this one. He's also likely going to be Carolina's top source of yards on the ground.

Projected Statistics: 22/36, 250 passing yards, seven attempts, 46 yards, three touchdowns and one interception
