Top 5 Fantasy Quarterbacks for Week 5

1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

2013 Statistics: 75.0 completion, 1,470 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and zero interceptions

Do you see those numbers above? Manning's early-season numbers aren't only mind numbing, they represent the best we have seen a quarterback play football in the modern history of the league. In terms of fantasy production, it's been downright criminal. He's the top fantasy quarterback by 23 points (an average of nearly six points per week). He now goes up against a Dallas Cowboys defense that has yielded the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Since Eli Manning's three-interception performance Week 1 against Dallas, opposing quarterbacks have tallied 1,000 total yards with six scores and just one interception over the past three weeks. Expect Manning to match those averages this week, at worst.

Projected Statistics: 380 passing yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions

2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

2013 Statistics: 66.4 completion, 1,057 passing yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions (three games)

The bye week came at a good time for Green Bay. Fresh off a disappointing late-game loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, it needed to get everything squared away and healthy. Rodgers and Co. may have some good tonic this week when the host a Detroit Lions team that he has owned in the past. He has thrown 19 touchdowns compared to five interceptions in nine career games against their division rivals. While Detroit possesses one of the better defenses against the passing game, its high time that Rodgers has one of his "Rodgers-eque" performances.

Projected Statistics: 340 passing yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions

3. Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers

2013 Statistics: 73.9 completion, 1,199 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions

The Oakland Raiders have yielded the ninth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season and don't have the personnel to matchup against a Chargers' passing game that is running on all cylinders right now. Rivers is playing his best football since the first half of the 2010 season and is on pace for 4,800 yards with 44 touchdowns compared to just eight interceptions. He's also the fourth-ranked fantasy quarterbacks through the quarter point of the Chargers season. Look for another huge performance Sunday night, Monday morning.

Projected Statistics: 340 passing yards, three touchdowns and one interception

4. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

2013 Statistics: 72.4 completion, 1,015 passing yards, eight touchdowns and one interception

While Romo might only be the 10th-ranked fantasy quarterback through four weeks, he is playing exceptional football. His mistakes have been limited during this span, mostly due to better decision making and a decrease in pass attempts. DeMarco Murray's emergence as a true starting running back has also helped. Unfortunately for the Cowboys and Romo, they'll be going up against a high-powered Broncos' passing attack and will have to air it out more. While this should mean a higher opportunity for interceptions, it also means that he's going to put up some stellar fantasy numbers. Denver also ranks in the middle of the pack against fantasy quarterbacks.

Projected Statistics: 375 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions

5. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions

2013 Statistics: 64.1 completion, 1,262 passing yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions

Green Bay is giving up an average of 23 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Even Andy Dalton, who has struggled for the majority of the season, had the best game oagainst its defense. In what promises to be a high scoring affair, Stafford will put up the necessary numbers to be a top-five quarterback Week 5. Interestingly enough, it wouldn't be too much out of whack with his performance through the first four weeks. Stafford is the ninth-ranked fantasy quarterback right now.

Projected Statistics: 350 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception
