Top 5 Fantasy Quarterbacks for Week 8

1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

2013 Statistics: 71.6 completion, 2,565 passing yards, 26 total touchdowns and three interceptions

This game has all the makings to nearly duplicate what was saw from the Dallas Cowboys and Broncos just a few weeks ago. The Washington Redskins and their horrible excuse for a defense come into Denver for a Week 8 tilt with a Broncos team still fuming over a loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Washington's defense has yielded the 10th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season and is giving up nearly 300 total yards to that position per game. Meanwhile, Manning is averaging 366 yards and 3.6 touchdowns per outing this season. You do the math.

Projected Statistics: 350 passing yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions

2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

2013 Statistics: 65.0 completion, 1,906 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions

Rodgers finally started to live up to preseason fantasy expectations last week against the Cleveland Browns. In what was an awesome performance against a top-tier defense and without two of his primary targets out of the game, Rodgers threw for 260 yards and three scores without an interception. Those three touchdowns matched his output from the previous three games combined. Rodgers and the Packers now go up against a struggling Minnesota Vikings team on Sunday Night Football this week. Minnesota's defense has yielded the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season and are giving up about 2.5 touchdowns per outing. Expect a similar performance to the one we saw against Cleveland last week.

Projected Statistics: 320 passing yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions

3. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins

2013 Statistics: 60.1 completion, 1,746 passing yards, 233 rushing yards, eight touchdowns and six interceptions

It's been pretty much all about garbage time fantasy production for RGIII this season up until last week. He helped Washington come from behind late in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bears, which was huge for a team that came into that game with one win on the season. For RGIII, this performance could be what starts a string of stellar fantasy performances. At nearly 100 percent, he lit up the Bears to the tune of 382 total yards and two scores. It was good enough to rank him among the top-three quarterbacks for the week. RGII and the 'Skins now go up against a Denver Broncos defense that has been downright atrocious this season. They're allowing an average of over four touchdowns and 400 total yards per game. Denver has also given up the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. In what promises to be a shootout, RGIII will continue the fantasy domination we saw last week.

Projected Statistics: 250 passing yards, 75 rushing yards, three total touchdowns and one interception

4. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers

2013 Statistics: 63.5 completion, 1,331 passing yards, 179 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions

Don't look now, but Newton and the Panthers are playing great football and in the midst of the NFC Playoff race at about the midway point of the season. The third-year quarterback might not have put up great fantasy numbers against the St. Louis Rams last week, but he's surely limiting mistakes and seems to be on the upswing. Over the course of his last two games, Newton has combined for 500 yards and five scores without an interception. He's now the 12th-ranked fantasy quarterback after tremendous early-season struggles. Carolina now takes on a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has struggled a great deal defending the pass as of late. Over the course of the last two games, Tampa Bay has yielded 585 total yards and six scores without a touchdown. Expect Newton to continue that trend to an extent on Thursday Night Football.

Projected Statistics: 245 passing yards, 65 rushing yards, three touchdowns and one interception

5. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers

2013 Statistics: 56.2 completion, 1,420 passing yards, 240 rushing yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions

Kaepernick appears to have found his game over the course of the last two weeks after struggling through the previous four. Against the Tennessee Titans last week, the third-year quarterback put up over 220 yards and a rushing touchdown in the first half alone. This is big news because San Francisco finally started to utilize the read option on a consistent basis and Kaepernick was extremely successful running it. It was the first time since his stellar Week 1 performance against the Green Bay Packers that Kaepernick put up top-seven fantasy production from the quarterback position. San Francisco now takes its four-game winning streak to London to take on a winless Jacksonville Jaguars' team. The Jaguars have yielded the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season and are giving up an average of over 260 total yards to that position through seven games.

Projected Statistics: 230 passing yards, 65 rushing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions
