1. Victor Cruz, New York Giants
2013 Statistics: 13 receptions, 236 yards and three touchdowns
Cruz goes up against a Carolina Panthers defense that ranks in the bottom 10 of the NFL against fantasy receivers this season. The talented receiver will be lining up against Captain Munnerlyn, who ranks among one of the worst cover cornerbacks in the NFL. With the Carolina Panthers success against the run this season, there is also little reason to believe that the Giants questionable ground game will have any success in Week 3. This means that Cruz will be targeted a whole heck of a lot. Expect a big performance here.
Projected Statistics: Seven receptions, 140 yards and two touchdowns
2. Calvin Johnson, Wide Receiver, Detroit Lions
2013 Statistics: 10 receptions, 153 yards and two touchdowns
He's back. Johnson scored two touchdowns against Patrick Peterson and the Arizona Cardinals Week 2, breaking a string of 20-plus games without scoring double-digit touchdowns. It looks like he could be in store for a repeat performance against a Washington Redskins defense that has yielded 621 passing yards and six scores through the air in two games. Do you really think DeAngelo Hall has it in him to cover Johnson? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Projected Statistics: Seven receptions, 120 yards and two touchdowns
3. Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys
2013 Statistics: 13 receptions, 163 yards and one touchdown
After struggling out of the gate against the Giants, Bryant put up a stellar performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. Despite a costly drop down the field late in the game, he was able to nab nine catches for 141 yards and a score against Brandon Flowers. The good news here for Bryant' owners is that he's going up against Cortland Finnegan, who Pro Football Focus grades out as the worst cover corner in the NFL through two weeks. If protection holds up in front of Tony Romo, Bryant will have himself a huge game.
Projected Statistics: Eight receptions, 125 yards and one touchdown
4. Anquan Boldin, San Francisco 49ers
2013 Statistics: 14 receptions, 215 yards and one touchdown
Boldin was pretty much shut down by Richard Sherman last week, a matchup that we could all see coming a mile away. He caught just one pass for seven yards on four targets. Now imagine how Boldin must feel going up against a lesser defender in the form of Vontae Davis. This doesn't even take into account the fact that San Francisco will do everything in its power to rebound from that humiliating performance. I am expecting a huge performance from Boldin and this offense.
Projected Statistics: Seven receptions, 115 yards and one touchdown
5. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals
2013 Statistics: 15 receptions, 203 yards and two touchdowns
Green had himself a down game against Ike Taylor and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. One of the primary reasons for that is Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert combined for 12 catches. While that's fine and dandy, we all know that Green is Andy Dalton's go-to-guy. That's not going to change against a Green Bay Packers defense that has given up the seventh-most fantasy points to receivers in the first two weeks. Expect a big performance here.
Projected Statistics: Seven receptions, 110 yards and one touchdown
