Top 5 Fantasy Wide Receivers for Week 6

1. Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys

2013 Statistics: 29 receptions, 423 yards and six touchdowns

What do you get when you mix the Washington Redskins defense and a Dallas Cowboys passing game that netted 500-plus yards last week? The No. 1 overall fantasy receiver for Week 6. This is exactly what you can expect from Bryant as he takes on a 'Skins 222.8 yards and 1.3 touchdowns to opposing starting receivers on a weekly basis thus far this season. One bye week will not fix these issues. For his part, Bryant is the No. 1 fantasy receiver through five weeks. Look for him to eat apart Washington here.

Projected Statistics: Seven receptions, 125 yards and two touchdowns

2. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals

2013 Statistics: 31 receptions, 361 yards and three touchdowns

Green has failed to put up more than 61 yards in any of his last four games and is only catching 51 percent of the passes thrown in his direction during that span. It goes without saying that Andy Dalton's performance is a major reason why Green has struggled since a breakout Week 1 outing. With that said, Cincinnati goes up against a Buffalo Bills defense that is yielding the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. The likes of Josh Gordon, Torrey Smith, Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill have tallied 17 receptions for 514 yards and four touchdowns in the last three games against Buffalo. This could be the perfect tonic for both Dalton and Green.

Projected Statistics: Eight receptions, 130 yards and one touchdown

3. T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts

2013 Statistics: 20 receptions, 342 yards and two touchdowns

This might be a big surprise to many of you, but Hilton is coming off a 140-yard performance against an elite Seattle Seahawks pass defense. He's now going to be lining up against a unit in the San Diego Chargers who is the complete antithesis of the Seahawks. They have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs and will be running Shareece Wright out there against Hilton. That cannot possibly end well for San Diego.

Projected Statistics: Six receptions, 115 yards and one touchdown

4. Demaryius Thomas, Detroit Lions

2013 Statistics: 34 receptions, 450 yards and four touchdowns

We are finally at the point where it's nearly impossible to project one single Denver Broncos receiver to be the No. 1 overall fantasy player at this position. Peyton Manning may be on pace for over 6,000 passing yards, but he just has too many targets for one to be relied on to put up spectacular numbers in a given week. I decided to go with Thomas here because he represents the highest upside of any receiver on the roster. Heck, he's catching nearly 80 percent of the passes thrown in his direction this season. That's reason enough to have him at No. 4. Oh, and the Broncos are taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Almost forgot to add that.

Projected Statistics: Six receptions, 110 yards and one touchdown

5. Justin Blackmon, Jacksonville Jaguars

2013 Statistics: five receptions, 136 yards and one touchdown

How can I possibly include Blackmon in an article like this after just one game this season? How can I do so with Chad Henne at quarterback? Heck, how can I even do this with a straight face when Jacksonville is slated to go up against the Denver Broncos?

The answer it three-fold. First, Jacksonville will have to air the ball out early and often in order to get even remotely close to covering the four-touchdown spread. At the very least, this gives Blackmon opportunities to put up some solid numbers. Second, Denver has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. Whether it has been Terrance Williams or Denarius Moore, some less-than-stellar fantasy options have put up huge numbers against Denver. Finally, Blackmon has a lot of success with Henne under center last season, including a 236-yard performance against the Houston Texans. All this seems to indicate the second-year receiver will have a big game in a losing effort.

Projected Statistics: Six receptions, 100 yards and one touchdown
