Top-Five Fantasy Football Matchups for Week 15

Well I guess it’s fitting that as the season comes to a close and injuries are piling up the fantasy matchups become less magical than earlier in the season.  This week if Aaron Rodgers was playing, I would have him and Tony Romo as the number one matchup.  Honestly it sucks that we won’t get to see two of the best fantasy quarterbacks go at it as both teams scratch and claw for key wins.  I guess we’ll have to settle for two of the most successful franchises in the history of NFL go at it on sunday.  Well here’s some other matchups to check out this week since that one is ruined.

5. Jared Cook vs. Jimmy Graham

This week two tight ends that lead their respective teams in receiving will meet in St. Louis this week.  Graham arguably if not the best one of the top tight ends in the league.  He currently leads the Saints in catches, yards, and touchdowns(also leads the league).

This week he faces Cook who has had a decent first year in St. Louis.  He leads the team in receptions and yards, he also is tied for the team lead with four touchdowns.  The Rams are a young team and have struggled to stay consistent, this has hurt the fantasy value for most of their players.  Cook is very talented though and has shown that he has the capability to go off on the main stage.

4. Michael Crabtree vs. Vincent Jackson

YES!!!! Crabtree is back and this is the game where he’ll let the world know it.  Darrelle Revis can only check one receiver at a time and I expect him to at least start on Anquan Boldin.  Watch Crabtree get silly as all the focus is on Boldin and Vernon Davis.  Jackson is the man and the main reason why rookie quarterback Mike Glennon is playing so well.  He is one of the best receivers in the league right now and you should expect him to get at least 10 points each week.

3. A.J. Green vs. Antonio Brown

Two of the best receivers this season square off in this divisional match up.  Green is one of the young receivers in the league right now.

He’s tall fast and if you're not Joe Haden....you can’t stop him.  He is having a great season this year over 1000 receiving yards and eight touchdowns so far.

Mike Tomlin can be on the field all he wants this week because Green will just jump over him.

Brown has turned into one of the best receivers in the league this year.  He has 90 catches and just over 1200 yards with three weeks to go.

So look on the bright side Steeler fans, your season has been tough but you have a certified baller giving 100% every single week.  Can’t wait to see these two compete this weekend.

2. Alfred Morris vs. Steven Jackson

Morris is a beast and he finally should get 20 carries this week with all the quarterback and coach drama.  Morris has gone over 1000 yards already this year and he’s looking to do damage in the last three weeks.  The Falcons defense also aren’t the best in the league, so I’ll take Morris for big game please.

Jackson is having a tough season, he was banged up earlier and the Falcons team that went 13-3 last year won’t make the playoffs this year.  But and there is a but my friends, he plays the Redskins.  That means that the Redskins defense will have to do something that they haven’t been able to do all year, tackle.  Jackson will have at least one game to keep him sane this off season and this is going to be that game.  We’ll see the Jackson of old this week as he goes off on the Redskins defense.

1. Adrian Peterson vs. LeSean McCoy

This depends on how banged up Peterson actually is but still you can’t pass up these two matching up.  Peterson is arguably not only the best back in the game today, but also one of the best to ever play in the NFL.  He’s so strong that he’ll run over your linebackers, but he’s so fast that he’ll score by running past your defensive backs…..(not like they can tackle him anyway).

He’s a player that can do it all and the Eagles aren’t the 86’ Bears if you know what I’m saying.  McCoy should be in the running for MVP this year because he has been amazing.  He’s the best back in the league when it comes to balance.  He can run it well between the tackles and he can make linebackers look silly when he’s out on a route.  When you factor in the fact that there’s no running back harder to get a hold on in the open field, the Vikings defense should be on red alert this week.
