After a good Week 1 for cornerbacks, Week 2 shows some promise as well. With more and more leagues using IDP, corners are a key position to pay attention to. Here are the top five IDP cornerbacks for Week 2:
5. Darrelle Revis vs. New Orleans Saints
Usually, you would not start a corner playing against Drew Brees, but since Revis is so good, and since Brees isn’t likely to avoid his side of the field all day, Revis could have a good game this week.
Game Projection: Three Tackles, Three Passes Defensed
4. Chris Harris vs. New York Giants
Harris is one of the best in the game at his position, and Eli Manning is not the one to avoid throwing interceptions. Harris should have a stellar game this week.
Game projection: Four Tackles, Two Passes Defensed, One Interception
3. Charles Tillman vs. Minnesota Vikings
Tillman is a turnover machine, and Christian Ponder will have problems this week trying to throw the ball. Expect Tillman to force another turnover or two this week
Game projection: Three Tackles, Two Passes Defensed, One Forced Fumble and One Interception
2. Cary Williams vs. San Diego Chargers
Williams had a superb debut for the Eagles on Monday night, and this week he goes against interception prone Philip Rivers. Expect Williams to keep his great play going and be a top fantasy corner this week.
Game projection: Five Tackles, Two Passes Defensed, One Interception.
1. Patrick Peterson vs. Detroit Lions
Peterson will go against Calvin Johnson this week, so it seems silly that he would be the top ranked cornerback for fantasy. But think again. In fantasy football it is all about statistics. Peterson should be targeted all day long by Matthew Stafford because Megatron will see his share of targets. Not to mention Peterson could return one to the house on special teams.
Game Projection: Six Tackles, Three Passes Defensed and 75 return yards
