Top Five IDP Outside Linebackers for Week 1

Fantasy football along with the NFL regular season starts on Thursday, and that means it is time to set your lineups! More and more leagues have IDP now, and for good reason. It adds a whole new dimension to fantasy football. Here are the top five IDP Outside Linebackers for the first week of the season.

5. Anthony Spencer vs. New York Giants

The New York Giants offensive line is subpar, and the Cowboys will be coming after Eli Manning early and often. Spencer could be the benefit of one-on-one matchups all day long.

Game Projection: Three Tackles, One Tackle for Loss, One and a half Sacks

4. Rob Ninkovich vs. Buffalo Bills

Ninkovich will be one of the better players on the Patriots defense this season, and with the Bills offense line and quarterback questions, Ninkovich could be a dominant force.

Game projection: Five Tackles, Two Tackles for Loss, One and a half Sacks

3. Brian Orakpo vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Orakpo makes his much anticipated return to the Redskins, and he will be hungry to prove he hasn’t lost a step. Eagles quarterback Michael Vick takes at least a sack a game, and it will likely be Orakpo’s.

Game projections: Three Tackles, Two Sacks and One Forced Fumble

2. Aldon Smith vs. Green Bay Packers

When Aldon and Justin Smith are both playing and they run stunts, the two are nearly impossible to stop. The Packers will be throwing the ball all afternoon long, and the opportunity for Smith to accrue sacks will be great.

Game projection: Three Tackles, Two and a half Sacks

1. Demarcus Ware vs. New York Giants

With the move to defensive end (but still eligible at OLB), Ware will be able to rush the passer nearly every single snap. It is not unfathomable to think Ware could get 20 sacks this season. Week one against the Giants is a good starting point for Ware.

Game Projection: Five Tackles, Three Sacks and One Forced Fumble
