With rookie running back Todd Gurley likely to miss at least the first month of the regular season, the St. Louis Rams were relying on Tre Mason to shoulder the load until Gurley was able to return.
Unfortunately for the Rams, Mason will be inactive for the team's season opener against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday afternoon.
Mason, a third-round pick of the Rams last year, suffered a hamstring injury in the preseason.
With Mason out, Benny Cunningham will be the Rams starter against Seattle on Sunday. Though, there is very little reason to play Cunningham in DFS against a stout Seahawks run defense. Until the situations regarding Gurley and Mason clear up, the Rams remain a must avoid at running back.
