A day after CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported that Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor could miss a couple weeks with a sprained MCL, it appears things are trending in the direction of the breakout star potentially being able to suit up Sunday:
On a radio appearance Wednesday morning, Bills head coach Rex Ryan that he "definitely would not rule out" Taylor for Sunday's tilt with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Common logic suggests that the Bills would take a cautionary approach with Taylor this week. A knee injury of this ilk can linger throughout the season — something that could impact Taylor's mobility under center. And as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL at escaping pressure that's not something anyone on the Bills wants to see.
On the other hand, Buffalo has a real opportunity to knock off the undefeated Bengals and move to 4-2 on the season this week.
We will keep you updated on Taylor's status moving forward. If Taylor can't go, EJ Manuel will get the start.
