New Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford played one possession in his preseason debut against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night, leading the team to a 12-play, 84-yard touchdown scoring drive in less than four minutes.
Sounds awesome, right?
Well, there was definitely a mix of the good and bad here. In his 11 snaps, Bradford took two pretty big hits, including one from Terrell Suggs to the knee on a read-option play that saw him exposed to the oncoming pass rusher.
While Bradford got up both times, he was visibly shaken after the second hit. He also showed a great deal of hesitancy in a couple throws following said play. That's something Bradford will have to fix if he wants to perform at pre-injury levels. It's also a worry for an Eagles team relying on a quarterback with two ACL injuries in as many years.
Saturday's outing was the first since Bradford tore his ACL in a preseason game last August. He has not suited up for a regular season game since Week 7 of the 2013 season, having gone through two lengthy ACL rehabs since.
Overall, Bradford completed 3-of-5 passes for 35 yards without a touchdown or an interception. He should get more play next week against the Green Bay Packers.
