As Washington prepares for its Week 7 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, they'll have to look outside the organization for help at kicker. Dustin Hopkins, who suffered a partially torn muscle on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, will miss Week 7 and is considered week-to-week. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported the news on Monday.
While the kicker position is a favorite of no one in the fantasy football world, there is no doubt it plays a role in the fantasy landscape and determines matchups each and every week.
Over Washington's last four games, Hopkins scored 35 fantasy points with three nine-point performances and an eight-point performance. With Washington's offense steadily improving and providing Hopkins with several scoring opportunities, fantasy owners will miss his constant production. But his absence will make him an easy drop candidate this week for waiver wire targets.
For owners who cut Hopkins or any kickers on a bye week, stay tuned for later in the week when eDraft releases its full slate of Week 7 fantasy rankings. There will be plenty of kickers for fantasy owners to choose from and some quality opportunities to take advantage of.
