What Jonathan Martin to the San Francisco 49ers Means

Earlier this year Jonathan Martin was involved in the bullying situation that tore the team apart.  In the beginning of the season Martin accused fellow lineman and teammate Richie Incognito of bullying him to the point where he had to leave the team.  Since then Incognito was found guilty in the eyes of the public and suspended by the team.

Today marks a new chapter for Martin as the Dolphins traded him to the San Francisco 49ers for a conditional seventh- round pick.  This could be good for Martin as he returns to his old college stomping grounds on the West Coast.  Add that he’ll be playing for his old college coach Jim Harbaugh and San Francisco could a great option for Martin.

This also works out great for the 49ers as Martin has the ability to play both left and right tackle.  As a former second- round pick Martin has a lot of potential, but he’ll have to prove himself and fight for playing time.

The 49ers are a good team and Martin obviously struggled in Miami.  If Martin has a chance to come in, learn from the veteran players and prove that he has what it take to be a starter and contribute to the team, this could be the start to something great for him and the 49ers.
