Will Weston Richburg Start for the New York Giants in 2014?

The New York Giants had one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL last season and they made it clear in the offseason that improving the offensive line was their first priority. Last year's first-round pick, Justin Pugh, improved in every game and he will be a key cog for years to come. The Giants also signed one of the best guards in the league in Geoff Schwartz.

Jim Cordle didn't play that bad in 2013, but the Giants wanted to bring in an impact run-blocker, and that's the kind of player Colorado State's Weston Richburg. Known as the consensus best center in the draft, the Giants are getting perhaps the most intelligent signal-caller in this year's draft class. At 6'4", 300 pounds, Richburg is a bit undersized for the center position, but he makes up for his deficiencies with toughness and smartness.

By drafting Richburg and Boston College's Andre Williams, the Giants have made it clear that they want to go back to their power-running scheme. By inserting Richburg into the starting lineup, the Giants could have one of the best rushing attacks in football in 2014. Adding another young offensive linemen with potential is yet another smart move for the Giants. It will be interesting to see how Richburg progresses as the start of the season nears.
